Position Description: You can earn volunteer hours by;

- Participating in the poverty simulation and debrief.
- Helping with the venue set up and event closure.
- Taking up various roles based on your individual strengths and preferences.

The poverty simulation project is funded by the United Way of Peel Region's Youth in Action Grants.
Goal of Position: With the support of United Way of Peel Region's, Young Leaders Council's, Youth in Action Grant, Step Up Youth Volunteer Ambassadors hopes to execute an educational and awareness project that will change youth’s negative perceptions of their peers who are facing poverty in the Region of Peel. The event will be held on a specific date during ChangeTheWorld 2017. This event post will be updated once the date is confirmed.

Objectives of the Event:
1. Create awareness about the poverty situation in Peel.
2. Entice youth to participate/create projects by collaborating with Volunteer MBC member organizations who have adopted the cause.
3. Conversations and competitions to take place in social media regarding the cause.

Training Details: Date & Time: Friday, May 12th from 5:00pm to 6:00pm
Venue: 7700 Hurontario Street, Unit 601, Brampton, ON L6Y 4M3
Position Qualifications: - Participate in the "Volunteer Orientation" held on May 12, 2017 from 5pm to 6pm.
- The ability to have fun!
- All volunteers are kindly requested to bring at least one (1) canned food item (woudld cost you less than $5.00) to the event which will be donated to Seva Food Bank.
Time Commitment: Saturday Afternoon, Saturday Evening
